Trip to Mon Ang Ket: Information and Instruction

Gambar
Abstract The mountains in northern Thailand sometimes provide a breath-taking view of its nature. Among the mountains in Chiang Mai, Mon Ang Ket ( ม่อนอังเกตุ ) provides a good vantage point to see most of the mountainous area surrounding the border between Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son. This writing aims to provide general information and instruction for anyone willing to visit the Mon Ang Ket. From the last visit to the mountain, the author found a short-length muddy road without asphalt in the forest that provides a challenging path to the camping site. Travelling on the muddy road requires good concentration of seeing the terrain and good driving skills--either motorcycle or car. However, the rest of the road to the camping site uses asphalt and provides a smooth, accessible way.  The Panorama The Mountain: Location and Trip Duration Mon Ang Ket is a mountain whose height is 1,840 meters above sea level. This mountain is bordering Mae Hong Son province. Visiting this mountain from Ch

Thai Motorcycle Tax Renewal (3 Steps)

Gambar
For some people, renewing their motorcycle tax is something new. Especially for those who are just moving from abroad to Thailand, they experience many cultural shocks. In this post, I will describe how to renew your motorcycle tax in 3 steps, in which you need to follow the steps in sequence. There is also obviously an easy way to renew the tax, by simply going to an agent and ask for their help. Well, you could do that, but at some extra expense, from 300-500 baht ($10 - $15), depending on the matter.  Here are the three steps you need to follow. Before doing this, make sure you have all documents given by you when purchasing your motorcycle such as the green book (It is an A5-sized book with a green cover, written in Thai). Basically, bring all documents related to the motorcycle; trust me, it will save your time from returning back and forth. In that, this document is called lem tabiyan  (Eng: Copy of registration). Each vehicle has this, and never lost this document.  1. Pay Insur

Thai Motorcycle Driving License (Chiang Mai, Sept 2020)

Gambar
Being a foreigner in Thailand, having transportation that can carry you anywhere fast and comfortable is a necessity, especially if you are living where no public transportation is not effectively available.  However, having private transportation means to be responsible for it, including its documents, such as a driving license. Although fine for not having the license can be negotiated "peacefully" with the police, it is a wise decision to have one with you.  This is my personal experience in Chiang Mai of making a Thai driving license for a private motorcycle. Overall, I could say the process is lengthy, due to a lot of paperwork needed, and if you are unfamiliar with the Thai language, this will slow down the process.  Actually, there is a shortcut to this lengthy process. If you already have a valid international driving license, you can skip some steps and get the driving license faster. I do not have any idea of how the process will be.  The very first step is to prepa

Thailand Certificate of Residence

Living in Thailand as foreigner requires a lot of paperwork, one of them is a certificate of residence. This certificate is important when you want to work on other papers, especially which is related to government. Without this, they usually will say no. Although some other writings mentioned that work permit is enough to replace this certificate, it is not always true, especially when living in Asia; many rules are interpreted differently depending on which area to live This is my experience of how to get the certificate of residence in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This is written on 24 July 2020, the same day when I am going to the immigration office. If there is any revision, I will put the remark on it. To begin with, you need to locate where the office is, a simple googling will help. You will notice the place is across a gas station. It is advised to go in the early morning as there will be fewer people. Avoid going on Monday morning and Friday afternoon because it is the busy hou

4 Hari 3 Malam Trip di Chiang Rai, Thailand

Gambar
